Definitions
Ally -
A person who supports and respects members of the LGBTQ+ community
Aromantic -
A person who does not feel romantic attraction
Asexual -
A person who does not feel sexual attraction. That doesn't necessarily mean they don't feel romantic attraction
   
Biological sex -
A scientific term for sex assigned at birth
Bisexual -
A person who is attracted to two or more genders
   
Cisgender (cis) -
A person who's gender identity and biological sex align
Gay -
A person who is attracted to the same sex, commonly used to refer to men. Also acts like an umbrella term for the LGBTQ+ community
   
Gender Expression -
The way a person is seen through the public eye
Gender Identity -
Internal percetion of ones gender and how they label themselves
   
Gender Queer -
An umbrella term for many non-conforming and non-binary identities
Heteronormativity -
The idea that heterosexuality is the norm/standard. Thinking men and women are a complimentary pair
   
Homophobia -
Any negative attitude towards a member of the LGBTQ+
Intersex -
A person who is biologically between male and female
   
Lesbian -
A woman who is romantically attracted to women
Pansexual (pan) -
A person who is attracted to other people regardless of their gender
   
Queer -
An umbrella tern used to describe individuals not identifying as straight
Transgender (Trans) -
A person who has transitioned from their biological sex to another
   
Transphobia -
Discrimination against trans people
